1. General

1.1. These Booking Terms and Conditions apply to the booking of activities operated by Nuclear High Ropes Ltd, The Secret Nuclear Bunker, Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex. CM15 0LA.

1.2. No variation to these Booking Terms and Conditions shall be binding unless agreed in writing by Nuclear High Ropes Ltd.

1.3. These Booking Terms and Conditions contain important information concerning participation by you and members of your party and, as such, you acknowledge and agree that you shall ensure that all members of your party are aware of and accept these Booking Terms and Conditions.

1.4. Nuclear High Ropes Ltd reserves the right to make changes to the activities offered and the structure of activity sessions.

1.5. Any typographical, clerical or other error or omission in any booking confirmation or other documentation issued by Nuclear High Ropes Ltd (including any electronic documentation) shall be subject to correction without any liability on the part of Nuclear High Ropes Ltd.

1.6. Nuclear High Ropes Ltd complies with the requirements of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

1.7. Before confirming your booking it is your responsibility that both yourself and all members of your party acknowledge and agree the contents of the terms and conditions as they contain important information regarding the participation of activities.

1.8. Only by accepting these terms and conditions can participation commence.

2. Safety

2.1. There are some inherent risks associated with Ropes Course Activities. The Ropes Course activities may be physically and emotionally challenging. All participants will receive appropriate training from an instructor prior to commencing the activities.

2.2. Nuclear High Ropes Ltd reserves the right to refuse admittance to the any activity or to remove a participant from any activity should it deem necessary to do so. This includes a participant who does not comply with the safety rules and advice or who is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

2.3. All participants are required to act responsibly and courteously at all times and to respect other participants. Nuclear High Ropes Ltd shall be entitled to prevent any person from undertaking or completing the activities in the event of unsuitable behaviour by a participant.

2.4. All participants must be reasonably fit and healthy. Health conditions should be reported to Nuclear High Ropes Ltd staff. Our policy is to be as inclusive as possible however due the physical nature of many of the activities it may not be possible for all clients to participate. Participation will be allowed where reasonable adjustments can be made to allow participation.

2.5. All participants are required to wear personal safety equipment as supplied and fitted by Nuclear High Ropes Ltd.

2.6. The Ropes Course Activities may be physically demanding and require a degree of agility, strength and stamina. If participants are in any doubt as to whether they should attempt the Ropes Course activities they are advised to view the Ropes Course before booking. If participants have medical concerns they are advised to consult their doctor in advance.

Participants will be required to certify that they do not suffer from any medical condition which would make it more likely that they would be involved in any incident which could result in injury to themselves or others (including pregnancy).

2.7. Ropes Course Participants must be dressed appropriately (strong shoes) and Nuclear High Ropes Ltd reserves the right to refuse admittance to the Ropes Course Activities by any participant who is not appropriately dressed. No refunds will be given.

2.8. No refunds or compensation will be payable by Nuclear High Ropes Ltd in the event that any participant is not permitted to, or decides not to, undertake or complete the activities for the reasons set out in this clause.

2.9. Upon completion of the activities at Nuclear High Ropes Ltd, it is the participants responsibility to return all safety equipment to the welcome area and ensure that it is handed to one of our staff members or instructors, failure to do so will incur a £250 payment per set of not returned equipment.

3. Booking Confirmation

3.1. No booking shall be deemed to have been accepted unless accepted in writing by Nuclear High Ropes Ltd (this shall include Nuclear High Ropes Ltd email confirmation of booking from our online booking system).

3.2. These Booking Terms and Conditions incorporate a Nuclear High Ropes Ltd Acknowledgement of Risk Form. You and each member of your party over the age of 18 will be required to sign the acknowledgment of Risk Form before being allowed to undertake the activities.

Those under the age of 18 shall only be permitted to partake if the Nuclear High Ropes Ltd consent form is signed by a parent or legal guardian or other authorised to do so. An adult must remain on site for all clients under the age of 16.

3.3. You must advise Nuclear High Ropes Ltd as soon as possible of any mistake in Nuclear High Ropes Ltd booking confirmation. Nuclear High Ropes Ltd shall take reasonable care to ensure that you and your party’s session commences at the time booked and it shall be the responsibility of each participant to ensure that they arrive in sufficient time.
Late arrivals may not be permitted to undertake the activities and no refunds or compensation will be payable in such circumstances.

Ropes Course Activities:

3.4. You must be present on site ready for your activity 15 minutes before your session start time. The start time on your confirmation is for your safety briefing start time which starts promptly. You must be in the designated area, fitted with any personal protective equipment prior to the briefing commencing.

If you arrive after the start time we will try and accommodate you, but if you arrive after the session start time when the safety briefing has commenced we regret we cannot allow you to participate and no refunds will be given.

3.5. The activities comprise of a challenging high ropes course and participation is not without risk. The safety system eliminates many of the risks associated with traditional high ropes courses. Clients must adhere to the safety instructions at all times. Advice is provided in our Ropes Course Session Advice and Safety Brief sheet. Every participant should read this prior to their session.

3.6. A safety briefing will be conducted before commencement of the course (Induction). Each participant will be assessed during Induction, if they complete the first 3 obstacles incorrectly, they will be asked to repeat, if they still fail to complete this part safely (they have not understood or cannot understand the safety system, or cannot complete the course on their own without assistance), they may be removed from the course or limited to the low level course where an Instructor, accompanying adult or other helper can closely supervise. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

3.7. After the safety briefing, participants will not be directly supervised by an instructor. Adults may assist/supervise children whilst on the course, however you may only be one element in front or one element behind the children. Children have to be able to manage our safety system completely independently. If possible, we recommend another adult supervising the group on the ground.

Children who elect not to participate in some sections of the course must be supervised by an adult with the group. We do not offer crèche facilities for unsupervised children under 16.

3.8. All Participants must be reasonably fit and healthy, at least 6 years old and must weigh less than 120Kg. The size of the harness used on the course dictates the size of the customer we can allow to safely use the course, If you have any concerns regarding this, please call  07375 221496

If on the day any of the participants do not meet our height/weight and medical requirements, they will not be able to participate on the course and no refunds will be made.

4. Cancellations

4.1. You will be entitled to cancel your booking without charge up to 7 days prior to activities.
Bookings can be moved up to 48hrs prior to your activity, subject to availability.
Please note we do NOT offer refunds or change sessions for illnesses that occur on the day of your activity.

4.2. Nuclear High Ropes Ltd shall be entitled to cancel your booking at any time, although we will not do this without good reason. In the event that Nuclear High Ropes Ltd decides to cancel your booking, for example due to extreme weather conditions it will use reasonable measures to notify you as soon as possible.

You shall be entitled to re-book another date subject to availability in the event of cancellation under this clause but no other compensation will be payable. Some activities are more affected by weather, due to the nature of the activity or the location of that activity within our operating site.

If one activity has to be cancelled, an alternative activity may be substituted in it’s place and no refund will be given. Refunds may be offered at the discretion of the management if we need to cancel your activities.

4.3. In the event that it proves necessary to close the activities for reasons beyond the control of Nuclear High Ropes Ltd and in circumstances where your party has commenced participation in the activities, you shall not be entitled to any refund (in part or in whole). In such circumstances Nuclear High Ropes Ltd may, but will not be obliged to, offer alternative dates or times at no additional cost.

Bad weather clarification: rain and showers, light snow and moderate winds are acceptable conditions that do not require cancellation. We are an all weather provider and continue subject to access to the site. In the event that thunder and lightning occurs during the session, the session will be stopped, climbers removed from the course and all participants will be taken to a safe area until the bad weather disperses.
After 30 minutes clear, activities may be resumed. In the event that weather is so severe that the session has to be cancelled by us, (severe gales, prolonged storms, severe snow storms) we will notify you at our earliest convenience and re-schedule your session for another time.

If our venue is operating as normal when adverse weather prevails and we decide we can provide a safe, well managed session no refunds will be offered if you decide to cancel your session and any outstanding balances will still need to be paid. Rescheduling your activity will require a new booking and further payment.

Site closure under circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to; extreme weather or other natural damages to our site, or other events which may create unacceptable risk to health and safety or the inability to run an acceptable standard of session, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and offer an alternative date.

Our activities are all-weather sports and activities and will normally proceed regardless of weather conditions. In adverse weather conditions you should assume your booking will proceed unless directly advised by us otherwise. We will do our best to keep the site open and check access routes are clear.

In the event that bad weather forces the site to close – such as severe snow, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity and re-schedule the booking for another date. If you can provide us with a mobile number as well at the time of booking this will be useful in the event we needed to contact you on the day of your session.

5. Clothing

5.1. It will be the responsibility of all participants to ensure that they are dressed appropriately and Nuclear High Ropes Ltd advises participants to wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions and which they do not mind being damaged. In particular the following restrictions will apply:

Participants may not undertake Ropes Course Activities in sandals, slip on shoes, Crocs, Flip Flops etc (trainers, sturdy shoes or walking boots are advised)
Long hair must be tied back
Scarves must not be worn,
No chewing gum or food on the course
Jewellery and body piercings must be removed or taped over

5.2. Nuclear High Ropes Ltd will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of clothing or other personal items of persons resulting from participation in the activities.

6. Price and Payment

6.1 Subject to any terms agreed in writing between Nuclear High Ropes Ltd and you, our charges will be calculated at our current rates and payment in full shall be due at the time of booking. Payment may be made by debit or credit card either online or by telephoning:  07375 221496

7. Refunds

7.1 Payments made by debit or credit card will be refunded to the same card.

8. Liabilities

8.1. Except as otherwise provided in these Booking Terms and Conditions Nuclear High Ropes Ltd shall not be responsible for the loss or damage to any property or to any person arising from the booking of or participation in the activities.

8.2. Parking facilities are available at the site, and any vehicle and its contents is left at the owner’s risk.

8.3. Except as otherwise provided in these Booking Terms and Conditions any liability of Nuclear High Ropes Ltd shall be limited to the refund of any charges paid to Nuclear High Ropes Ltd.

8.4. Nothing contained in these Booking Terms and Conditions is intended to nor shall limit the liability of Nuclear High Ropes Ltd in respect of death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Nuclear High Ropes Ltd or of its employees, agents or contractors.

9. Group Bookings

9.4. We require at least 48 hours notice for any reduction in numbers or cancellations. A group cancelling or reducing in numbers less than 48 hours before the activity will be charged in full.

9.5. If a discounted price is offered this is based on group size and date given. Should you reduce your group size at any time prior to the event your booking will be re-priced accordingly and further charges may apply.

9.6. If your reserved participant numbers do not attend the activity total cost will still apply. Extra participants may be added subject to availability and additional costs.

9.7. For special offers, please read the terms and conditions of offer. If the offer that you have booked is for selective days only, and you choose a date that is not indicated as an offer day, you will be required to pay the difference for the session. If you would like to add people on to your booking after an offer has run out, you will be required to pay full price for any additional people booked on.

10. Miscellaneous

10.1. If any of these terms are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and the remaining terms shall endure, remain in full force and continue to be binding and enforceable.

10.2. Nothing above shall confer on any third party any benefit or the right to enforce any of these Booking Terms and Conditions.

10.3. These Booking Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

10.4. Persons are not allowed to bring their own equipment to use on the course, under any circumstances.

Season Pass

Nuclear High Ropes booking terms and conditions apply to all Season pass visits.

  • Nuclear High Ropes Ltd reserves the right to make changes to the activities offered and the structure of activity sessions.
  • Summer season passes are valid from 22nd July 2024 until 31st August 2024
  • Season pass bookings cannot be rescheduled outside of the validity window
  • Nuclear High Ropes must be notified of any cancellation of season ticket sessions via ropes@nuclear-races.co.uk . We require a minimum of 48hrs notice
  • Any unattended session, where we have not been notified may result in the cancellation of the season pass without compensation.
  • A Season pass can be used to pre-book unlimited activity sessions during advertised opening hours, with the exception for Special events.
  • Season pass fees are paid in full at the time of purchase by card.
  • Refunds for unused Season Passes only given during validity period. All refunds are in the form of credit.
  • Season passes are non-transferable. Any misuse of the pass (including another person using your card) will result in confiscation without compensation and refused entry for that person
  • Management reserves the right to refuse entry and revoke a Membership at any time without refund.
  • We require all members to have a photo for registration and verification purposes.
